Since 2002, I have been a registered massage therapist (RMT) and business entrepreneur serving clients in the greater ottawa area. Over the years I’ve been recognized with several awards. The Orleans Chamber of Commerce recognized me in 2007 for Customer Service Excellence, 2008 Service Business of the year, 2010 Service Business of the year, 2010 Professional of the year, 2011 Health Care Professional of the year. In 2018 The Health and Wellness Expo in Ottawa recognized me with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
I’ve had the privilege of working as a massage therapist for more than 20 years. In that time I’ve learned that each individual can have many different outcomes, reactions, and results to so many different techniques. My approach is to identify symptoms and assess postural alignment in order to establish a treatment plan designed to treat the root causes of pain. Addressing the body’s alignment can improve range of motion, athletic performance, dexterity, balance, strength, and muscular efficiency.
My strong belief in continuous education has led me to extend my professional development in the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration Certification Program.
Structural Integration is a way of addressing the fascia, connective tissue, in the body. A combination of soft tissue manipulation and client active movement can help to re-organize the body alignment. Structural integration helps to bring the body alignment back to a neutral posture.
